Welcome to our new WebSite.
The goal this year is again $35,000. That will allow the Goodfellows organization to provide clothing, toys and a big party at South Middle School on Dec. 16 for about 600 low-income Henderson children between the ages of 4-11.
The children in need are identified with the help of the Family Resource Centers at each school in the county.
At the party, besides gifts of clothing and toys, there will be clowns, balloons, cake, games and, of course, Santa.
The Gleaner will again be acting as a clearinghouse for the tax-deductible donations from the public.
Volunteers will also be needed to help with “bagging day,” which will begin at 8 a.m. Dec. 15 at South Middle School. That’s when all the clothes and toys that Richard Pendergraft and his helpers, like his brother Larry, have purchased on sale through the year will be prepared for the eager children.
We would appreciate any amount you can donate to help these great kids at Christmas time. Thank You!
